We will know more in a month when Blizzard takes the stage with what is clearly a very big announcement. I’m wondering if we could see a new Diablo title that is also playable on mobile, Fortnite style, given that sort of thing feels like where games are headed these days, and Diablo loot farming is the perfect “on the go” type of activity, provided they could do it in a way where mobile controls weren’t awful. There’s a reason that game sold an absolutely astonishing amount of copies. Diablo 3, by the end at least, was an incredible game, and building on that seems like a must rather than going in a wildly different direction. Too often we see games “fix” themselves over a period of years, only to have a sequel arrive and throw half of it out the window (*cough* Destiny 2).

For my money, the perfect Diablo 4 would simply be learning all of the lessons Blizzard took in after fixing all of Diablo 3’s mistakes, and improving upon that.
